Horse racing augmentation data for fan and bettors

KLAPx42DLP’s OFFICIAL DATA PARTNERSHIP WITH EQUIDIA PLACES IT AT THE FOREFRONT OF HORSE RACING’S ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NEW ERA.

Equidia is a French thematic television channel dedicated to horse racing.

With 10 hours of racing broadcast live every day, Equidia is the leading sports broadcaster in Europe.

Equidia were looking at enhancing fan engagement by providing an augmented visual experience for replay races.

"Reference races are very important for bettors. Equidia had been looking for a long time a way to make these races more visual with an adapted look and above all a technology allowing them to be highlighted. The other challenge was to integrate this new device into the antenna’s workflow. Our partners Klap and 42DLP have taken up these challenges!" explains Eric Lapauze, director of Equidia’s antenna.

Equidia partnered with KLAP (an AI start-up specialized in Deep learning for horse racing) to detect and track jockeys/horses for +40 races every day

42DLP (a company providing Live Broadcast Solutions) translates tracking data into a great visual experience with custom graphic design.

For each race, Equidia’s operator is checking tracking quality and can adapt or remove automatic tracking from the output video.

The product is being launched, end of january 2021 for an augmented experience during the prestigious “grand prix d’Amérique”.

You will be able to watch augmented replays on Equidia channel soon after.

We succeeded in developing an augmented tracking technology with an unprecedented level of intelligence. We can’t wait to see how this augmented visual experience will be welcomed by horse racing experts, fans and teams” says Olivier Chatillon, business development director at Klap.
